Take Time to Rest

I woke this morning with a clogged nose, sore throat, headache and toothache. These may be the result of my plight since Monday morning- waging through a lot of people under the heat of the sun for an hour or under the rain showers just to be able to ride a jeepney to get me to work. I commute everyday and currently, commuting for me becomes difficult. A recent vehicular accident involving a jeepney that killed 9 commuters made our city officials angry of the “uso-uso” jeepneys that are plying in our route, hence, making our means of transportation scarce, and making my life difficult.

I thought of missing office, but the thought of my piled-up documents bothered me. I may be resting physically but I can’t help thinking of my oh-so-cluttered desk. And so, I tried to get up and went to work.

At work, I can’t concentrate on what I was doing and what I was supposed to do next. My toothache is persistent and now, I have a runny nose and sore throat. What a day to hurdle!-but I know, I can survive the day. Of course, I must!

Tomorrow is Saturday and I don’t have work. I promise I will take a rest. Maybe, all these aches and pain just reminds me that my physical being had to rest. Maybe, these are my body’s bell that reminds me that I have to take time to rest.
